We checked out of the area airport hotel early this morning and proceeded over to the airport to check in for our early morning flight. In no time with boarding passes in hand we went through security. From there we went over to the airline club lounge to wait for the departure of our flight. The good news is that our flight left on time, was uneventful, and we arrived at the Los Angeles( LAX) Airport slightly ahead of schedule. We also had one of the nicest flight attendants we have ever had in all our years of flying and certainly the nicest one we have had the pleasure of flying with in many years. After claiming our bags we made our way over to the hotel where we will spend the next three days prior to boarding the cruise ship.
We were fortunate that although we arrived to the hotel by 9:00 AM our room was ready. The hotel is located in Marina del Rey in a nice area right off the water. After we unpacked, and made arrangements with the Concierge for a car to take us over to the Cruise Ship Terminal on Monday morning we took a nice long walk for couple of hours. While we walked around the area we enjoyed the nice views of the water, the many boats and the nearby hills. The weather was perfect for our walk.
Back at the hotel, we enjoyed a nice quiet lunch and then afterwards we ventured out again. We walked along a rather long bicycle path which took us by some very pretty residential areas and then we walked around the marina. We explored the hotel and checked out the fitness center. In the evening, we enjoyed a nice dinner.
Tomorrow we will spend most of the day with Anne Marie's family including her Brother, Aunt, Uncle, along with her Cousin and her husband and their two children. We are looking forward to seeing them.
